
Seborrhoeic Keratosis
Usually, seborrhoeic keratosis are treated for cosmetic reasons or because they have become itchy or irritated. Most people will have more than one seborrhoeic keratosis, and they often appear quite suddenly. ABOUT THE CONDITION
Seborrhoeic keratosis, sometimes referred to as fibromas, are benign skin tumours. Flat, raised, small or large, they either sit on the skin’s surface or are found attached by a short, thin neck or peduncle. Pedunculated growths (e.g. skin tag on the neck) vary in size from pea-sized to larger ones and can be a normal to dark colour.
CAUSES
Acne is a common skin condition and can often be genetic. There are also lots of external causes such as:
- Genetics
- Sun exposure
- Age (40+)
- Chronic trauma
