This will help us gain a better understanding of your individual skin concerns. Before commencing the treatment we will discuss and assess the current state of your skin and medical history. If you are visiting us for the first time, it is highly recommended that you book in for a Skin, Scan, Plan prior to your first treatment. This will take an additional 40 minutes and the cost is completely redeemable towards any Defy skincare products of your choice. If you’re severely claustrophobic this treatment is not suitable. Due to stimulating the lymphatic system, if you are currently experiencing any cold/flu like symptom or ear and nose aches this treatment is also not advised as it can make symptoms worse. Lie back and relax in one of our large, cosy, treatment beds, while we pamper your skin, starting off with a gentle double cleanse of your face, neck and decolletage. Your therapist will then analyse your skin, allowing them to make informed decisions on which products and ingredients will be best suited to target your specific concerns. For an oily/acneic skin, a pre-exfoliation solution will be applied in order to remove excess oils and build up. Your therapist will then choose the appropriate Enzyme mask level and apply to your face, neck and décolletage using lymphatic motions. The masque will become hard and tight as it dries, creating a pulsing/lifting sensation to your skin. Movement of facial muscles is discouraged during this phase. The tightening of this masque serves to increase blood flow and oxygenation within the skin, feeding your cells with vital nutrients and energy, increasing optimal cell functions. It also helps to significantly detoxify the skin as the lymphatic system is stimulated. The mask will remain on your skin for 35-45 minutes in total. We will them remove the mask and o n completion, we will pamper your skin with layers of serum, eye cream, moisturiser and spf, all carefully tailored by your skin therapist according to your individual skin needs. This treatment requires no downtime, however immediately post treatment some clients will experience dilated, visible blood vessels due to the contracting of the mask. This is very normal and is a positive outcome. Usually, this will subside within the hour. In the days following clients usually notice a healthier, silkier, and plumper skin. However, if you have trapped underlying toxins/congestion within your skin it may cause you to break out. This is a process we call purging and it is a positive response as we are helping to eliminate this trapped congestion and allowing our skin to function optimally. If you feel tight or dry post treatment, this is also a normal response as the enzymes within the mask have allowed for the exfoliation of dead skin cells to lift and flake off. For ideal results, weekly to fortnightly treatments are recommend as part of a treatment program. In order to prolong and maintain skin health between appointments, following a quality and consistent homecare routine including SPF is imperative.
