Skin Diagnosis – What Happens During Your Appointment?
During your skin diagnosis consultation, your therapist will cleanse your skin thoroughly and ensure you are relaxed and ready to learn about your skin and its needs. She will ask you a series of questions about your lifestyle habits, current skincare routine and what you might be happy and unhappy with in regards to your complexion. Your therapist will also talk to you about your expectations, budget for treatment protocols and your desired outcomes.

Observ250 has eight settings that allow us to see deep within the skin’s layers to study any irregularities and determine the best course of treatment to bring your skin back to balance – and its most radiant, supple best.Â
These eight observation modes include:
Daylight, which allows us to observe your complexion as it would be seen in a controlled, natural daylight environment.
Surface Texture, which reveals your complexion’s textural upper layer and its current condition.
Pigmentation, which shows us common skin irregularities such as sun spots and sun damage, freckles, melanoma and other skin colour variations.
Redness – allows us to diagnose redness, flushing and other micro-vascular conditions.
Parallel Polarised – this provides an enhanced visual of the skin’s surface, any fine lines, wrinkles, uneven texture and unrefined pores.
Cross Polarised – This dims shine on the skin’s surface, thereby allowing us to get a great visual of your dermal structures, any vascular anomalies, inflammation and pigmentation.
True UV – uses a UV light to create distinguishable UV patterns on the skin’s surface and its deeper layers, which allows us to correctly diagnose sun damage, pigmentation and other skin irregularities.
Simulated Woods Lamp – This mode is used to diagnose skin conditions such as dehydration and oiliness.
Throughout the appointment, we take a series of six images. Each one will assist us in diagnosing various skin concerns, including pigmentation, redness, oiliness, congestion, dry skin, fine lines and wrinkles.Â
